Possible haunting in Cheshunt, Herts
Hello everyone, I wouldn’t say I’m psychic but I do sometimes ‘know’ things or when I walk into old buildings, I can sense if something is a bit off. I hope this is making a little bit of sense so far to some of you I know I’m not explaining myself very well! Anyway, my friend has recently bought a house in Longfield Lane, Cheshunt which dates back to the 1900’s.
I helped her to move in and its a lovely place, very cottagy with original fireplaces and everything you would expect from a little old house, It has a downstairs bathroom so there was really no reason for me to venture upstairs until she started decorating and wanted to show me her handywork, The minute I went up the stairs, I could feel something not right. Her son (aged 12) had been having terrible nightmares since they moved in and had actually taken to sleeping in his mothers bed. She put it down to the stress of the move and the fact he now had a massive bedroom in a high ceiling’d house, so she decided to put a stud wall in to break the space up a bit. I really can’t put my finger on what is wrong in the house, downstairs it is lovely and welcoming, upstairs its cold and strange. I really couldn’t wait to get out of there. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about the history of Longfield Lane in particular? I have lived here all my life and know plenty about local history but I have drawn a blank when trying to research this part. Obviously, I have said nothing to my friend, she hasn’t picked up on anything herself and I don’t want to ruin things for her, I just can’t help but feel something sinister went on in this house at some point. Thanks guys, I appreciate you taking the time to read this note. Karen x

Someone might have been murdered in that house, particularly in that room with the tall ceiling.
