The Old Cat, Wordsley

The Old Cat is certainly old and was originally converted from a row of cottages which would have been around at the time of the English Civil War. Cavalier figures from the war have been seen in other parts of Wordsley and it is indeed a Royalist soldier in full attire who has startled staff mainly around the cellar area.

White Lion Inn, Sedgley

The White Lion, or at least parts of it, date back to the English Civil War. One of the reported ghosts here is a Royalist Cavalier in full uniform who has been seen in various parts of the building including on the main staircase. Nearby Dudley Castle was a Royalist stronghold so he may have been associated with the forces who defended the castle against the Parliamentarians.

Bolling Hall Museum

Now a museum, Bolling Hall, parts of which which date from the 14th century, is one of Bradford’s oldest buildings. It would also appear to have a reputation for being haunted and has a famous legend relating to a white lady in what is known as the Ghost Room.
