Saltwood

On 16th October 1963 two young couples were out courting near Saltwood (which has been the scene of numerous strange events) in Kent, when they witnesses a bright star shaped object hovering near some trees. Their attention was considerably aroused by the appearance of a black, headless entity with wings like a bat and webbed feet. The figure came towards them and the couples fled.

Cloera, Ireland/Gravesend, Kent/Bristol UFO (1211AD)

In 1211AD Gervase of Tilbury recorded a strange event in the borough of Clorea in Ireland. During a Sunday Mass at the church of St Kinarus in the borough of Cloera, an anchor was seen to descend from the sky and hook on to the church door.

Sheerness UFO (1912)

On 12th October 1912 at Sheerness, Kent, a dark object, that was making strange buzzing noises, was seen passing overhead. This was one of the sightings during the phantom airship wave during the early part of the 1900’s.

Hook UFO (1967)

Mr W. Collet was driving between Hook and Reading early on the morning of 26th October 1967 in a transit min-bus. Suddenly his radio and electrical equipment cut out.

A338 UFO (1967)

On 6th November 1967, Carl Farlow was driving along the A338 at around 1.00am in the morning. He was coming up to a bridge over the river Avon, when the electric’s in his car cut out. He pulled up to the roadside to check out what the problem was, and spotted an egg shaped object hovering above the road.

Winchester UFO (1976)

On 14th November 1976 about 9.00pm near Winchester, Joyce Bowles and Ted Pratt were driving down the A272 when the car started to jolt and shake, and then veered off the road into a grass verge by the roadside. The car was subject to electrical interference as the engine roared, and the lights seemed to be shine brighter than normal.

Aldershot, Basingstoke Canal UFO Abduction (1983)

Albert Burtoo stands as the oldest UFO abductee, if his story is to be taken at face value. He was aged 77 at the time of the incident, and had just settled for a nights fishing session on the side of Basingstoke Canal on 12th August 1983. At about 1.00pm he noticed a bright light, which he took to be an army Helicopter from the nearby Para base.

Early London UFO (1222)

On 30th November 1222, dragons were reported to have been seen over the city of London, after the sighting severe thunderstorms caused severe flooding.

Southend-on-Sea UFO (1954)

14 October 1954 while flying over the Thames Estuary near Southend-on-Sea, at about 4.15pm, Flight Lieutenant James Saladin ,who was piloting a Gloster Meteor Mark VIII, spotted three objects approaching him. Two of these objects, one gold and one silver, flew to either side of his aircraft, and one directly in his flight path. He submitted a report of the incident to his airbase.
