Oldham, Greater Manchester: He just wants to talk.
I’m only 16, but this is something I have witnessed in my kitchen over and over again for at least 6 years now. I don’t believe it to be a haunting, but I believe it is an emotional re-enactment stuck inside the building and was never solved.

Picture this – a sink on one counter, an oven and hobs behind you, and an open counter at the side. Whenever I am in the kitchen for over 10-15 minutes, a feeling of guilt and anguish comes over you as if you’ve just had a massive argument. In the corner of your eye, a man of around 6′ in height walks past behind you, then leans on the kitchen counter at the far end. He leans in a way as if to say ‘we can’t be like this forever’, if you understand what I mean. When you turn to look at him or talk to him, he disappears, and the feeling of guilt and anguish just goes too. The first few times I thought it was either my dad or my brother coming into the kitchen and just leaning there and I would say whilst washing the pots ‘are you going to help me?’ But when no reply was given I turned to look and they weren’t there. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? It’s not an issue because I’ve lived with it long enough now. The house itself has a pleasant homely feeling, as if you’re welcome and free to do as you please in it. It’s a traditional red-brick terraced, and if it was my choice I’d live there for the rest of my life. There are two other things that me and my family have witnessed in the house, but I’ll post them at a later date. ๐

Welcome to the site LeemyLOVE. Does anyone else experience anything in the kitchen?

hello leemylove, new member rocket1 here. i think what you
have here is a ghost trapped in limbo possibly confined to your kitchen area, it is probably picking up feedback from you and as i have experienced you only catch them out of
the corner of your eye. i work in the hotel industry and at night i have glimpsed figures in mirrors, heard ghosts communicating with eachother and have been constantly followed by them around the hotel. i believe they need the
living to anchor themselves to their past lives.

I’m not too sure about that theory.I’ve seen too many houses that have sat unocupied for one reason or other that have turned out to have what might be called ‘legitimate’ claims to being haunted.

Re: Oldham, Greater Manchester: He just wants to talk.
if a ghosts are in a empty house and don’t come across any human beings it does’nt matter they just carry on regardless what i am saying is if,for example, a hotel has ghosts they will be drawn to the guests, either when they are asleep or going about their businesss in their rooms. if the guests are awake then the ghosts will just watch them, however, if they are asleep they could possibly attempt to anchor themselves on to them whilst unconcious, hence the term ‘the riding of the old hag’ or ‘sleep paralysis’, the feeling of being held down by a strange presence. this feeling i have experienced myself and have heard a conversation between two supernatural entities whilst on duty as nightmanager in a closed hotel. the exact conversation came from the voice of a young man who said ‘i cannot find any people’ a door then closed by itself into the restaurant area.they were looking for guests
Re: Oldham, Greater Manchester: He just wants to talk.
Hi rocket, welcome to the forum. Interesting theory, but personally I don’t think there is any evidence to back it up yet.
Sleep paralysis isn’t caused by ghosts but is sometimes misinterpreted as being caused by spirits etc.
It still is not clear whether hauntings have anything to do with intelligent "spirits" (if they are ever proven to exist).
Re: Oldham, Greater Manchester: He just wants to talk.
ok, sleep paralysis according to scientific research suggests that this condition comes about in sleep to stop us thrashing around in our sleep, I think this is one small aspect of it. I don’t think intelligence comes into it, ghosts and spirits are what they are, as when they were alive. I have seen spirits in all forms and I think we are not talking about hauntings but the dead trapped in limbo of some sort unable to move on, for what ever reason.
Re: Oldham, Greater Manchester: He just wants to talk.
or could be alive and not dead just from a parallel universe
mixing with ours on the odd occssion.
