The Crown & Horseshoes PH, Enfield
In the 1970’s a small old lady was seen inside The Crown & Horseshoes pub, in Horseshoe lane, by a man looking in through the window. The pub was locked up at the time and the man was waiting for the landlord to return and open up the pub. When the landlord arrived, the two of them searched the entire building but found nobody.

This seems to be the only time she has been seen but, according to a local newspaper article from 1975, plenty of ghostly activity has been heard. The then landlord said that the ghost banged the cellar doors “at least a dozen times a night” and that their pet dog and cat both refused to go anywhere near the cellar. He also said that he and his wife both felt that the ghost was a friendly one.

We don’t have many Enfield cases on the site yet but we do have The Crown and Horshoes. Do you have a picture of it Megiddo?

I found the info you already have on the Crown & Horseshoes after I posted this – doh! I don’t have any photos of the pub at the moment but I do intend to take some to accompany my researches later in the year.
