Thainstone House Hotel, Inverurie
This 18th century mansion hotel set in 44 acres of meadows is said to be haunted by a Green Lady. She is the ghost of a former owner’s daughter that died when thrown from her horse. She is said to have died in Room 406 where the apparition has been reputedly been seen many times. James Wilson (14 Sept. 1742 Scotland – 21 Aug. 1798 USA), signatory of the Declaration of Independence is said to have had a home on the site now occupied by the Swallow Thainstone House Hotel, though he emigrated to America at the age of twenty three.
