Ye Olde Leathern Bottle, Wednesbury
Ye Olde Leathern Bottle dates back to the 16th century and according to local legend was even once visited by Dick Turpin. The pub also plays host to a variety of paranormal activity particularly in the little front snug which was once part of the Vicarage of nearby St Barts.
Staff coming to work in the mornings are sometimes greeted by the strong and unmistakeable smell of toast in the pub even though no one has been toasting bread. One of the reputed ghosts here is a lady in grey but she seems to be heard walking around rather than seen.
The front snug is haunted by an old man in grey who is said to have been a victim of the 1917 Zeppelin raid on Wednesbury. Women in particular can feel uncomfortable and experience extreme temperature drops whilst sitting in the snug.
