What are the basics of investigating the paranormal? How does one get started? What techniques does one use? And what precautions does one take? I am sorry if these are basic questions, but I would really like to know.
I firstly want to introduce myself to you all, my name is Karl (aka Jester) and myself, my Fiancee Milly and good friend Dave (aka Paul T Geist) run a paranormal investigation team called Spooked, we film our investigations to go on our own paranormal show that can be viewed on You Tube.
After centuries of written accounts cocerning people seeing ghosts and over a hundred years of people taking an active interest in researching them, what do we actually know about ghosts and hauntings?
Can we identify what is absolute fact and accepted about ghosts rather than just theory wrapped up as fact?
A thought occurred to me today as I had to listen to someone harangue me that ghost hunters were the snake oil salesmen of the modern age: I’m not overly familiar with any ‘hard’ scientific studies of the phenomena.

I have just got back from doing the Muncaster Halloween investigation. A sleepless but quiet night. A good write article of the case entitled “Where do ghosts come from?” by Hazel Muir appears in the New Scientist, 30th October 2009.
